Migdalia Ortiz

Ms. Migdalia Ortiz, 71, died Friday, April 3, 2020 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at New Brunswick, New Jersey.

Migdalia, the daughter of the late Ana Luciano Ortiz and the late Jesus Ortiz, was born in Corasal, Puerto Rico.  She came to the mainland of the United States in 1951 and lived in New Jersey for most of her life.  She spent ten years in Arizona and then returned to Edison, New Jersey in June of 2018.

Migdalia had worked in the medical billing department of Offen Eye Associates in Westfield for  seventeen years, prior to her retirement in 2008.

According to her son, Ray, Migdalia enjoyed street fairs, visits to Seaside Heights, Atlantic City, Asbury Park, sampling Wildwood fruit, Keansburg zeppoles, a Philly cheese steak run, coffee at Reading Terminal Market, Hollywood Boulevard people watching, Venice laughter, Santa Monica's Route 66, Malibu Beach, Salton Sea, Vegas, any mall trip, NYC, Franki Vallie and the watching of any sitcom from another decade.  All of these outings were special to Migdalia, as long as any of her kids or grandkids were with her to enjoy them.         

Predeceased by her brother, Douglas Ortiz, Migdalia is survived by her two sons, Jesus Quiñones and his wife, Millissa and Ramon “Ray” Quiñones; her three brothers, Edward Ortiz, Jesus Ortiz and Edwin Ortiz; her four sister, Carmen Rosa, Petra Lloyd, Luz Figueroa and Annette Ortiz; her five grandchildren, Jazmin, Marcus, Jesseña, Jesse and Ramon and her two great grandchildren, Tai and Ezi.

Due to the COV-19 federal and state restrictions on public gatherings, all funeral services and cremation will be private.  A second memorial visitation and funeral service will also be scheduled at a future date for all family and friends to attend.
