Hello everyone,
Recently, the Kowalski Funeral Home has been getting a lot of inquiries about what type of funeral services are still allowed and available during these trying times. We would like to take this opportunity to clarify a few things in case, God forbid, you might be asking yourself these questions for a loved one.
First and foremost, YES, we can still have visitations with the current guidelines from the State. We are allowed to have up to 100 people in the facility at a time, and with one of the largest visitation rooms in Union County, we have plenty of space for people to pay their respects in a timely manner and remain socially distant.
That being said, we WILL still have an open casket visitation, if you so choose. We would never deny a family an opportunity to see their loved one. The Kowalski Funeral Home has been having visitations throughout this pandemic, following the guidelines issued by the State and the CDC, while encouraging masks be worn, social distancing practiced, and hand sanitizer placed throughout the facility.
Lastly, there ARE options to accommodate individuals that are on Medicaid, that are NOT just direct cremations. We are more than willing to assist families that have financial hardships to the best of our abilities, and have a nice and most respectful farewell for their loved one as possible.
We truly hope that you DON’T need this information, but we do hope that this helps those in need, or others that might have questions. It has been brought to our attention many times that various establishments will not accept an individual who passed away from Covid 19, or have any type of funeral service, other than a Direct Disposition. As we mentioned before, we at the Kowalski Funeral Home feel that is unacceptable. We genuinely want to give the best service possible, with respect to your wishes, and would never deny someone because of Covid.
Please be safe, take care and feel free to contact myself, Terry Kowalski, or any of the Kowalski Funeral Home staff at our office phone number 908-486-7111 or email me at: tvkowalski@aol.com or reach us via this website's "Contact Us" page.
