Mr. Michael J. McCabe, 58, died Wednesday, May 22, 2019 in the Hospice of the Sacred Heart Dunmore in Dunmore, Pennsylvania.
Family and friends are invited to the visitation in the Kowalski Funeral Home, 515 Roselle Street, Linden on Tuesday, May 28th. from 4:00-8:00PM. On Wednesday, May 29th. from 8:30-9:00AM everyone will gather in the funeral home where a prayer service will be held at 9:00AM, followed by the funeral mass to be offered in the St. Theresa of the Child Jesus R.C. Church, Linden at 10:00AM. The prayers of committal will precede his burial in the family plot in St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia, New Jersey.
Michael, the son of Hanora Morrissey McCabe and the late Michael McCabe (November 2012), was born in the St. Elizabeth Hospital in the borough of Manhattan, in New York City, New York. He lived in multiple towns in Bergen County, New Jersey before settling in Hazlet, New Jersey in 2009.
Michael was employed for twenty-five years by the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office in Hackensack, New Jersey until he retired in June of 2008 with the rank of Sergeant.
Michael’s interests included baseball, especially following the New York Yankees. He really enjoyed the ambiance and all that it had to offer, of his house on Eagle Lake in Gouldsboro, Pennsylvania.
In addition to his mother, Michael is survived by his wife, Christine L. Lubanski McCabe; his two daughters, Brittany McCabe and her fiancé, Michael Bernal and Brianna McCabe; his step-daughter, Emily Rosenzweig; his granddaughter, Maddison Rosenzweig; his brothers, John McCabe and Brian McCabe and his wife, Daria; his sister, Kelly Ann Prodigo and her husband, Dave; numerous nieces and nephews and several great nieces and great nephews.
