Maria Czendej Obituary

Ms. Maria Czuber Czendej, 74, entered the arms of the Lord surrounded by His heavenly angels on Monday, March 11, 2024, in the Kindred Hospital in Rahway, New Jersey.

On Monday, April 8th.at 11:45AM, family and friends are asked to gather directly at St. Hedwig Roman Catholic Church in Elizabeth where a memorial funeral mass will be offered at 12:0 noon, followed by the prayers of committal which will precede Maria’s inurnment in the family niche in St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia.

Maria, the daughter of the late Salomea Szot Czuber and the late Feliks Czuber was born in Osiek, Poland.  She came to the United States on June 22, 1985, and Maria lived in Linden and Rahway before finally settling in Winfield Park in 2018

Maria, a very dedicated and hard-working lady, was a quality inspector in the pharmaceutical industry.  She began her career in 2000 working for Johnson & Johnson and she retired from Teva Pharmaceuticals in Elizabeth in 2018.

Maria was a “people person”!  She loved to cook and bake, especially the traditional Polish foods to share with family and friends alike.  Her holiday tables were always overflowing with more than enough food to feed everyone for a week.  Over the years, Maria shared a lot of these recipes and experiences with her daughter, Violetta, as they cooked and kept each other company in the kitchen enjoying a glass of wine as the aromas of their endeavors filled the air.  Even if a friend stopped by for a quick visit, Maria made sure to always have some of her baked goods on hand to partner with a cup of coffee or tea as they filled the time talking.   Maria was known for her “green thumbs”.  She gained enormous tranquility whenever Maria spent time in her backyard, growing her beautiful and fragrant flowers and her abundant and wholesome vegetables.  It was also in her backyard where she loved to entertain people, having BBQ’s, and listening to music and dancing.  Oh, how she loved to dance!

Maria leaves behind the broken hearts of her daughter, Violetta A. Dymczak; her son Roman Lopatka; her sister Wladyslawa Oleskow and her two precious fur grand dogs, Oscar, and Lily.

Maria’s joy in life emanated from her children.  Her heart was overflowing with love in all the moments she could spend with them making memories to last their lifetimes.  Maria was simply the center of life for her family.  Her smile would light up her face and everyone wanted to be in the circle of her embrace.  Maria will be deeply missed, but she will never be forgotten.
