John Forstenhausler, Sr. Obituary

Mr. John A. Forstenhausler, Sr., 64, died Saturday, May 9, 2020 in the Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, New Jersey.

John, the son of Irene Chavan Forstenhausler and the late John B. Forstenhausler (1989) was born in Rahway, New Jersey.  He grew up in Linden, New Jersey and lived in Long Branch and Sea Bright, New Jersey for twelve years before settling in Eatontown, New Jersey eight years ago.

John had been employed as a lineman for Verizon for twenty years and he was a member of the Verizon Union Local IBEW.

In his spare time, John coached in Linden’s PAL & Pop Warner programs for baseball, football & soccer for over ten years.  He enjoyed playing slow pitch baseball and also bowled in many local leagues throughout the years.  John’s green thumb was evident in his gardening skills with flowers and vegetables.  Everyone knew that John was an avid junk collector, but over the years, his pastime also unearthed a few treasures.

In addition to his mother, John is survived by his five children, John A. Forstenhausler, Jr. and his wife Courtney, Dawn Forstenhausler, Eric Forstenhausler, Lisa Forstenhausler and Ryan Fostenhausler; his eight grandchildren, David Forstenhausler, Michael Forstenhausler, Anthony Forstenhausler, Daniel Ciprian, Ava Forstenhausler, Zane Forstenhausler, Peyton Forstenhausler and Mila Forstenhausler and his two sisters, Anne Banks and Jean Forstenhausler.

Due to the COV-19 federal and state restrictions on public gatherings, all John’s funeral services will be private.
