Mrs. JoAnn Mikesh, 75, of Little Egg Harbor, passed away surrounded by her family on September 5th, 2022 at Southern Ocean County Medical Center.
We respectfully request that no one arrive at the funeral home prior to the posted visitation time, so as not to intrude on the family's private time.
Family and friends are invited to the visitation in the Kowalski Funeral Home, 515 Roselle Street, Linden on Monday, September 12th, 2022 from 4:00-8:00PM and Tuesday, September 13th, 2022 from 8:30-9:30AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Theresa’s Roman Catholic Church, located at 131 E. Edgar Road, Linden, NJ, 07036 on Tuesday September 13th, 2022 at 10:00AM. Interment will follow in the family plot in St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia, NJ.
JoAnn was born on April 26th, 1947 to parents Gottfried and Stella Febick in Elizabeth, NJ. JoAnn was a lifelong resident of Linden up until she married the love of her life Robert on April 18, 1970, and they moved together to Flagtown, NJ in 1972. JoAnn always wanted to retire to the beach, so in 2006, she and Robert moved to Little Egg Harbor, where they settled and enjoyed being near the ocean together. She worked for many years in various township clerks offices as a registrar prior to retirement. JoAnn was a very religious person and was a proud member of different church organizations, one of which being the Rosary Society at St. Theresa’s in Linden.
JoAnn absolutely loved her grandchildren. She was so happy that they had a place near the beach that the kids could come down and spend time with her and Robert. In their earlier years, they enjoyed boating and outdoor activities like camping, which they would take the kids all over. They also took trips to Atlantic City and Las Vegas to try their luck and enjoy their time together. JoAnn would love to relax by watching TV, specifically the Hallmark Channel, which was allegedly “always on” in her house. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and will be perpetually missed.
JoAnn is predeceased by her loving husband of 42 years Robert Mikesh, her parents Gottfried and Stella (Scesney) Febick, her sister Barbara Jean Smith, and her brother Fred Febick and his wife Jane. She is survived by her adoring children Robert J. Mikesh, of Flemington, Tracy Jenkinson and her husband Henry, of Flemington, and Amy Jo Mikesh, of Little Egg Harbor, her grandchildren Jacob Mikesh and his wife Emily, Ryan Jenkinson, Nelson Ortiz and his fiancé Brianne, and Stella Osolinski, her great-grandchildren Danielle and Madison, her sister Mary Ellen Votta and her husband Michael, and many other nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
A light is from our household gone, A voice we loved is still, A place is vacant in our home, That never can be filled.
