Mrs. Mirabella, the daughter of the late Helen Zasowska Knapp and the late Sam Knapp, was born in Jersey City, New Jersey and she lived in Bayonne, New Jersey before moving to Linden, New Jersey in 1953.

She was employed as a secretary by the Archdioceses of Newark, working in St. Hedwig’s R.C. Church and School in Elizabeth, New Jersey for twelve years prior to her retirement in 1994.

Mrs. Mirabella loved to do crossword puzzles and made sure to tune in to watch her favorite daily shows, Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune.  She enjoyed the simplicity of sitting outside in the sunshine and eating some good BBQ.  Prior to her husband’s death, the two of them would go dancing up a storm in several places.  Dancing was one of Mrs. Mirabella’s passions; she never passed up an opportunity to get her feet moving to the beat!

Predeceased by her husband, John S. Mirabella in 2015, Mrs. Mirabella is survived by her daughter, Carol Safner and her companion, Henry Stefanowicz; her two sons; Tom Saunders and his wife, Donna and Richard Saunders and his wife, Regina; her four grandchildren, Stacie Cuccaro and her husband, Joseph, Louie Safner and his wife, Melanie, Casey Uselton and her husband, David and Emily Imaduan and her husband, Sam; her seven great grandchildren, Gabriella Cuccaro, Ashley Cuccaro, Sophia Cuccaro, Layla Safner, Elizabeth Safner, Nadia Imaduan, Layla Imaduan and many friends and neighbors.

As per the regulations imposed through the State of New Jersey, there will now be a maximum of one hundred and fifty people allowed in the funeral home and the church at one time and face protection is required.  We thank you for your understanding during this time of transition.
