Edwin Rodriguez

Private services were held for Edwin Rodriguez, 66, who died Friday, November 27, 2020 in the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Rahway, New Jersey.

Edwin, the son of Olga Ovalle and Sinforiano Rodriguez, was born in Guatemala City, Guatemala.  He came to the United States forty years ago, living first in Brooklyn, New York before settling in Linden, New Jersey twenty-three years ago.

Throughout his life, both in Guatemala and the United States, Edwin worked as an electronic technician.  While living in Brooklyn, New York he was the owner and operator of two shops simultaneously.  After that, he opened Edwin’s TV Service in Union, New Jersey which he operated until his retirement in 2005.

As a young man, Edwin loved to work out and he made sure to always challenge himself to the limit and nothing ever seemed to scare him.  Edwin enjoyed lifting weights or chowing down raw eggs to maintain or increase his body strength.  Over the course of the last few years, Edwin would always comment that after so long pursuing the self-improvement of his physical body, his favorite, most desirable interests had now turned to watching television or even more importantly, spending quality time with his family.  Edwin’s hours of television viewing included all genres, movies, tv shows and even the news.  More than anything else in the world, Edwin simply enjoyed sitting down with his loving wife next to him, catching an old movie on the television or gathering as a family, for a delicious meal.

Edwin is survived by his wife of forty-seven years, Edna J, Castaneda Rodriguez; his five children, Magda Rodriguez and her husband, Elio Martinez, Edwin Rodriguez, Henry Rodriguez, Eddy Rodriguez and his wife, Kristen Rodriguez and Evelyn Rodriguez and her husband, Edison Campo; his ten brothers and sisters, Manuel Rodriguez, Piedad G. Rodriguez, Sinforiano Rodriguez, Miriam L. Rodriguez, Pedro Rodriguez, Henry Rodriguez, Bilma Rodriguez, Maria E. Rodriguez, William Rodriguez and Humberto Rodriguez and his eight grandchildren, Samantha Martinez, Geraldi Martinez, Kimberly Rodriguez, Ariez Rodriguez, Samuel Rodriguez, Angelo Rodriguez, Melissa Campo and Jasmine Campo.
