Dorothy Kajewski Obituary

Mrs. Dorothy “Dottie” A. Sczweck Kajewski, 95, died Friday, February 18, 2022, in The Chelsea at Brick in Brick, New Jersey.

Family and friends are invited to the visitation in the Kowalski Funeral Home, 515 Roselle Street, Linden on Thursday, February 24th. from 9:00-11:00AM.  At the conclusion of the visitation, there will be a  prayer service offered by Reverend Bryan Wolf, in the funeral home followed by the prayers of committal, again rendered by Reverend Wolf,  which will precede Mrs. Kajewski’s burial in the family plot in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Linden.

Mrs. Kajewski was born and raised in Elizabeth, New Jersey.  At the time of her marriage to her late husband, Joseph, they bought a home and moved to Linden, where they raised their family, were great neighbors and made lasting frienships.  Mrs. Kajewski resided in Linden for sixty-three years until two years ago when she relocated to Brick, New Jersey to be closer to her sons.

She was a communicant and a choir member of St. Elizabeth’s Roman Catholic Church and a  stockholder and member of the former Polish National Home, both in Linden.  Mrs. Kajewski could be a real “party girl”, in that she loved music and dancing and spending time with people.  She enjoyed a good game of Bingo and Mrs. Kajewski always made sure to get her lottery tickets, because she wanted to be “in it to win it”.  The best part of her life was the simple joy Mrs. Kajewski received from spending time with her family and participating in all the family activities, whether it was for a major holiday or a simple get together.  Her two granddaughters were the apple of her eye; she adored them.

Predeceased by the love of her life, her husband, Joseph G. Kajewski in 1998, Mrs. Kajewski is survived by her three sons, Joseph G. Kajewski and his wife, Lynn, James Kajewski and his companion, Carmen, and Robert M. Kajewski and his wife, Stacie; her brother, Albert Sczweck; her sister, Eleanor Flammia and her two granddaughters, Robyn Kajewski and Amelia Kajewski.

Mrs. Kajewski was the Matriarch of her family and in the later years, her sons ,through their love and devotion, made sure to keep her healthy, safe, and secure.  She will be deeply missed but will live forever in their hearts.
