Mr. Daniel Joseph Campbell, 87, died Tuesday, July 16, 2019 in the Haven Hospice at John F. Kennedy Medical Center in Edison, New Jersey.
Family and friends are invited to the visitation in the Kowalski Funeral Home, 515 Roselle Street, Linden on Sunday, July 21st. from 3:00-6:00PM. On Monday, July 22nd., from 9:45-10:00AM everyone will gather directly at St. John the Apostle R.C. Church, Linden, where a funeral mass will be offered at 10:00AM. The prayers of committal will precede his burial in the family plot in St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia, New Jersey.
Mr. Campbell, the son of the late Madge O’Donnell Campbell and the late Bernard Campbell, was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey, where he lived a majority of his years. He then moved to Clark, New Jersey where he resided for five years before relocating to Edison, New Jersey in September of 2017.
Mr. Campbell was a welder for Union Carbide for thirty-five years and he retired in 1985.
He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and he held the rank of Corporal.
Mr. Campbell was a lifelong member and a past officer, including Warden, of the Elizabeth Knights of Columbus Council #253. His passion was salt water fishing and any chance he had, he made sure he was on the party boat enjoying the wind, the sea and catching fish. Locally, Mr. Campbell also belonged to a few fishing clubs.
Mr. Campbell was predeceased by his two brothers, Bernard Campbell and James Campbell; his sister, Ann Campbell Sheridan and his two nephews, James Campbell and Daniel Sheridan.
He is survived by his ten nieces and nephews, Kevin Campbell, Cathleen Ferns, Maura Campbell, Thomas Campbell, Brian Campbell, Patrick Campbell, Bernard Campbell, Vincent Campbell, Vincent Sheridan and Margaret Diaz and numerous great nieces, great nephews and friends.
