Mr. Charles L. Berg, Sr. died Sunday, July 11, 2021, in the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Rahway, New Jersey.
Family and friends are invited to the memorial visitation in the Kowalski Funeral Home, 515 Roselle Street, Linden on Tuesday, July 27th. from 6:00 – 8:00PM. The cremation in Rosehill Crematory in Linden was private.
Mr. Berg, the son of the late Sara Mae Spencer Berg and the late George Berg, was born in Philipsburg, Pennsylvania. He resided in Rahway, New Jersey prior to moving to Winfield Park, New Jersey forty-one years ago.
Mr. Berg was a tank liner for the Herbert Lutz & Company in Linden for forty years; a job that he thoroughly enjoyed and never thought of retiring from.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam War Era serving in the U.S. Army and locally Mr. Berg was a member of the VFW.
Over the course of his lifetime, as a means of relaxation, Mr. Berg enjoyed making model trains and setting up various scale terrains for the trains. However, it was obvious to all who knew Mr. Berg, that he was very much a selfless man, whose main joy in life was watching and playing with his grandkids.
Predeceased by his three siblings, George, Berg, Ralph Berg and Julie Schmidt, Mr. Berg is survived by his wife of forty-four years, Joan L. Keyworth Berg; his son, Charles L. Berg, Jr. and his wife, Laura; his daughter, Jessica A. Berg; his brother, Daniel Berg and his three grandchildren, Caden Berg, Ashton Berg and Jesse James Swain.
