Barbara Zak Obituary

Mrs. Barbara J. King Zak, 83, died Wednesday, October 7, 2020 in the Peggy Coloney House, a Division of the Center for Hope Hospice in Scotch Plains, New Jersey.

Mrs. Zak, the daughter of the late Theresa Kaplinski King and the late Henry King, was born in Bayonne, New Jersey.  She resided in Colonia, New Jersey for many years before moving to Linden, New Jersey fifteen years ago.

Mrs. Zak was employed by the ShopRite of Clark as a promotional demonstrator where she also offered food samples to those shopping.  She genuinely enjoyed this job and being around all the people for over ten years and Mrs. Zak was sad when it finally came time to retire two year ago.

She was a past member of the Rahway Elks Lodge #1075 in Rahway, New Jersey.  Mrs. Zak, like many of us, made sure that each day she enjoyed watching her favorite tv shows, which were Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune and The Office.

Predeceased by her husband, Frank Zak, Mrs. Zak is survived by her daughter, Donna Carsey; her two grandchildren, Nicole Dinella and her husband, Mike and Bobby Carsey; her three great grandchildren, Andrew Dinella, Ryan Dinella and Julian Dinella; her sister, Joan Sinisi; her two nieces; her one great nephew and her four great nieces.

All services for Mrs. Zak, including her cremation and the burial of her cremains in the family plot in St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia, will be private.
