Ann Marie, the daughter of the late Mary Fraykor Lazor and the late Nicholas Lazor, Jr. was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey.  She grew up in Linden, New Jersey and she lived in Somerset, New Jersey before finding her true home in Hillsborough, New Jersey.

Ann Marie was employed for the past thirteen years by the Hillsborough Township School District, as a bus aide and a lunch aide.  She worked most of her career at the Triangle Elementary School.  In her work life at school and on the bus, Ann Marie loved all the kids she encountered.  They brought joy to her life and a smile to her face.

Everyone knew that Ann Marie’s pride and joy and certainly the number one priority in her life was her son, Michael.  She loved going to all his sports games throughout the years starting with Hillsborough football and lacrosse sports and progressing to the Kean University Lacrosse games.  In her spare time, Ann Marie was definitely a shopper!  She seemed to have the special knack for finding the perfect thoughtful gift or card.  Ann Marie was also blessed with the ability to write beautiful handwritten notes to her friends and family that were always treasured.  She was a very social lady who had an outgoing personality.  Ann Marie enjoying music, dancing and attending local plays or going to Duke Island Park for the summer concerts with her friends.  Her interest in the art of dance was definitely her forte, as Ann Marie had taken dancing lessons since she was sixteen years old.  Eating out was always a treat with Ann Marie.  You never knew where you would wind up going, as she liked to visit to the Red Lobster, get burgers from the Hillsborough Star Dinner, take in a meal at the Flaming Grill or enjoy a delicious dinner at the Catered Affair in Hillsborough where the owners knew by heart what Ann Marie and her son loved to eat. These were just some of her many favorite haunts.  Ann Marie was kind to a fault and if you ever needed help, she would be there in a flash – a true friend!

Ann Marie is survived by her son, Michael Shapiro; her sister, Eileen Lambert and her husband, Henry Robert Lambert; her niece, Dana Antal and her husband, William Antal; her nephew, Robert Lambert and his wife Deb Lambert and their children, Robby and Joe; her numerous cousins, friends and co-workers.

Ann Marie was the center of life for her family, and she had an abundance of love for everyone in her circle.  She will be deeply missed but can never forgotten.
