William Maziekien Obituary

Mr. William “Bill” H. Maziekien, 74, died Thursday, May 28, 2020 in the Kindred Hospital in Rahway, New Jersey.

Bill, the son of the late Catherine E. Ubhaus Maziekien and the late William E. Maziekien, was born and raised in Newark, New Jersey.  In 1979, Bill moved to Maplewood, New Jersey where he resided until the time of his death.

Bill was a Licensed Professional Counselor, specializing in working with adolescents.  He counseled for over thirty-five years, employed by various companies and he retired in 2016.

Bill was in charge of the Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) at the Holy Spirit Grammar School in Union, New Jersey for over ten years.  During his tenure, he would take the kids white water rafting on the Lehigh River in Pennsylvania and snow skiing in Vermont.  He also loved the 50’s dance that they held every year.

Predeceased by his two sisters, MaryLou Sloan and Catherine Stehle, Bill is survived by his wife of forty-two years, Ellen “Ellie” Ferejohn Maziekien; his two sons, Christopher Maziekien and his wife, Morgana and Michael Maziekien; his brother, Edward Maziekien; his sister-in-law, Kathleen Maziekien and his two grandchildren, Finn Christopher Maziekien and Dianna Christine Maziekien.

Due to the COV-19 federal and state restrictions on public gatherings, all funeral services will be private.
