Mrs. Wanda Piotrowska Tusznio, 98, entered the loving arms of her Lord on Friday, March 27, 2026, escorted by His heavenly angels.
We respectfully request that no one arrive at the funeral home prior to the posted visitation times, so as not to intrude on the family’s private time.
Family and friends are invited to the visitation in the Kowalski Funeral Home, 515 Roselle Street, Linden, on Tuesday, March 31st. from 6:00 to 8:00PM. On Wednesday, April 1st. from 10:15-10:30AM, everyone will gather in the funeral home parking lot to form the traditional procession to St. Gertrude’s Cemetery in Colonia. The prayers of committal will be offered prior to Wanda’s entombment in the family crypt.
Wanda, the daughter of the late Mary Henc Piotrowska and the late Wladyslaw Piotrowski, was born in Gudziszki, Poland. She came to the United States in 1967, residing in Roselle and Linden for twenty-eight years before settling in Avenel in February of 2006.
Wanda most certainly had her share of losses – her husband, Miroslaw Tusznio in 2024; her two sons, Joseph Skuriat in 2016 and Walter Skuriat in 2021; her brother, Steven Piotrowski in 2007 and her sister, Helena Wojnilo in 2018. Sadly, what was once a large, thriving family that encompassed many nieces, nephews and cousins has been diminished over time to a few remaining relatives.
Wanda is survived by her son, Kazimierz “Charlie” Skuriat; her four grandchildren and her one great grandchild.
Wanda’s life was caring for her husband and her family – her “boys” who looked after her. She filled any extra time with her devotion to her church, St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Roman Catholic Church in Linden and the friends she made there.
Wanda was welcomed at the Gates of Heaven by all those she loved who went before her. May we rejoice that she now has eternal rest with her Lord and Savior. Wanda will be deeply missed, but she will never be forgotten.
