Mr. Thomas “Uncle Tommy” Tedesco, 71, died Friday, January 29, 2021 in the Ocean Medical Center in Brick.
Tommy, the son of the late Margaret Folio Tedesco and the late Peter J. Tedesco, was born and raised in Elizabeth, New Jersey and he moved to Brick, New Jersey thirty-three years ago.
Tommy was employed as a trainer of racehorses and he worked for various tracks, including Freehold Raceway and Monmouth Park for many years before his health forced him to retire.
Tommy was born to enjoy the sand and surf. He loved anything to do with the water, especially fishing, crabbing, and boating. Tommy enjoyed sharing these outings with his family members and everyone always came away happy, even if they did not catch a thing. Tommy did not have an easy life and he certainly was not rich, but he was wealthy beyond means because he was loved and cared for by the many people in his life. Family meant everything to Tommy, and he loved to connect, whether in person, by phone call or even keeping tabs with his family on Facebook.
Predeceased by his brother, Peter Tedesco and his sister, Marie Selvanto, Tommy is survived by his sister, Beatrice “Bea” Calligan; his longtime companion, Joan Dolch and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and friends.
According to the family’s wishes Tommy’s funeral services will be private.
