Mr. Thomas Livolsi, 75, entered the arms of the Lord on Monday, January 20, 2025, surrounded by the loving care of his wife, Gigi.
We respectfully request that no one arrive at the funeral home prior to the posted visitation times, so as not to intrude on the family’s private time.
Family and friends are invited to the visitation in the Kowalski Funeral Home, 515 Roselle Street, Linden on Thursday, January 23rd. from 2:00-5:00PM. On Friday, January 24th. at 8:30AM, everyone will start to gather in the funeral home where a prayer service will begin at 9:00AM, followed by the funeral mass to be offered in St. Elizabeth Roman Catholic Church in Linden at 10:00AM. The prayers of committal will precede Toms’ entombment in the family crypt in St. Gertrude’s Cemetery in Colonia, New Jersey.
Tom, the son of the late Antonietta Margarita Mancino Livolsi and the late James Livolsi was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey and he lived his entire life in the family home in Linden.
Tom’s career spanned over thirty years, working as a lineman and then later in quality control for General Motors in Linden prior to his retirement in 1998. A few years after that, Tom became a school crossing guard for the Tamaques School in Westfield – a job that he thoroughly enjoyed because he got to meet all the kids and converse with them om a daily basis. Tom was a very kind and gentle natured man who love to really get to know the people he came across. He could not be more personable and in return he was forever making friends.
Tom was an avid sports fan – the New York Yankees, the New York Giants and the New York Rangers filled his roster of “required” watching. When he wasn’t making kolache for the different holidays at the Holy Family Roman Catholic Church in the Tremley Point section of Linden, Tom was attending the meetings and events of the Rahway Knights of Columbus, Council # 1146. Tom was the embodiment of an exceptional husband, son and son-in-law. He also was an impressive friend in that Tom truly worked at keeping a friendship alive…getting together on the spur of the moment, talking about everyday things or even dining out, which was one of Tom’s favorite things to do.
In addition to his parents, Tom was predeceased by his brother Ralph Livolsi. Tom is survived by his wife, Gigi J. Krisak-Livolsi; his brother, James Guy Livolsi; his mother-in-law, Joan Patricia Fagan; his two nieces; his one nephew and Tom’s numerous neighbors and friends.
Tom’s legacy of love, determination, and kindness will forever inspire those who knew him, and he will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved him. Tom will be deeply missed, but he will never be forgotten. May Tom rest in Eternal Peace.
