Thomas Dale Bean, more fondly known as Tommy or “Spanky,” 62, of Elizabeth, NJ, entered into heaven surrounded by the love of his family on June 21st, 2025.
We respectfully request that no one arrive at the funeral home prior to the posted visitation times, so as not to intrude on the family’s private time.
Family and friends are invited to the memorial visitation in the Kowalski Funeral Home, 515 Roselle Street, Linden on Thursday, June 26th. from 1:00PM-3:00PM. The cremation in Rosehill Crematory in Linden was private.
Tommy was born on September 7th, 1962 to parents Edgar and Beatrice (Holt) Bean in Elizabeth, NJ, and grew up in Linden, NJ, before settling again in Elizabeth. Tommy was always known as a bit of a jokester. He’d make little bets, or wagers on things with his wife MaryEllen, and would usually tip the scales in his favor. The prize was typically some type of food, and of course, a Pepsi. Tommy loved all types of sports, and some of his teams included the Dallas Cowboys, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, the New York Mets, and the New York Knicks.
Throughout his life, Tommy worked various jobs, ranging from handyman to deliveries; he was truly a Jack-of-All-Trades. He liked to take trips down to the racetrack at Englishtown and watching the racecars. Tommy also enjoyed playing darts in his garage with his friends, although he would have to be reminded to “stay behind the line!”
Tommy is survived by his loving wife of 4 years (together for 14 years) MaryEllen (Driscoll) Bean, his siblings John Bean and his wife Teri, Jimmy Bean and his wife Mabel, and Vicki Salters and her husband Jermaine, his step-daughters Carly, Kellyanne, and AlenaRose, and many other extended family and friends.
Although he is not with us, Tommy’s light shines through us all. He will be missed, but never forgotten.
