Ms. Susanna Montoto, 95, finished the final chapter of her earthly life on Tuesday, July 7, 2026.
According to Susanna’s wishes, her funeral services and cremation will be private. On Monday, July 27, 2026, from 11:45AM–12:00Noon, family and friends will gather directly in the Kowalski Funeral Home parking lot to form the traditional funeral procession. The prayers of committal will be offered prior to the burial of Susanna’s cremated remains in the family plot alongside her son, Ralph, in Rosedale Cemetery in Linden.
Susanna, the daughter of the late Frances Belford Montoto and the late Ismael Montoto, was born in Cuba. When she arrived in the United States, she resided both in the Bronx, New York and Westwood, New Jersey, for a period of over ten years in each location before settling in Voorhees, New Jersey three years ago.
While in Cuba, Susanna worked as a communications operator for the Cuban telephone company.
Susanna was really a homebody at heart and enjoyed spending time watching her talk shows and keeping up with the latest gossip about the antics of the rich and famous as featured in “People” magazine. Susanna was blessed with nine plus decades of living and the best times in her life always involved the same people – her family, especially her grandchildren. It never mattered to her what they were doing together or where they were going, even if it was just a brief visit or a quick phone call in between the memorable times celebrating a holiday, a major event or some cookies and a beverage around the kitchen table. For Susanna, family was her joy throughout her life and her comfort as she got up in years. Just knowing they were around her brought her serenity and contentment.
Over the years, her circle of friends has narrowed and in 2023, Susanna suffered the devastating loss of her only son, Ralph (Rafael) L. Perez. Susanna is survived by her two grandchildren, Christopher Rafael Perez and Alexis Sophia Perez and their mother, Daisey Bonett.
Let us unite in prayer as we wish safe passage for Susanna through the heavenly gates where she will rest in eternal peace with her Lord and Savior.
