La Sra. Susana R. García Rabuñal, de 82 años, residente de Linden, Nueva Jersey, falleció el sábado 15 de noviembre de 2025, rodeada del cariño de su familia.

Susana, hija de los difuntos Hortensia Rabuñal y Juan García Pintos, nació el 29 de septiembre de 1943 en Montevideo, Uruguay. Llegó a Estados Unidos en 2015 y residió en Elizabeth, Nueva Jersey, antes de establecerse en Linden en 2021.

Susana poseía una personalidad multifacética e interesante. Disfrutaba enormemente de la tranquilidad de caminar. Durante sus años en Uruguay, su esposo Alberto era conductor de autobús, y a veces llevaba el autobús para hacer viajes y paseos con ella y familia. Ella disfrutaba mucho de los paseos con el. También an ella le gustaba usar su pase familiar para ir a la cuidad a caminar y además mucho para ir a la playa a tomar sol. 

Incluso en Estados Unidos, Susana seguía la misma rutina: tomaba un autobús a la ciudad de Nueva York y luego caminaba durante horas. En casa, era famosa tanto por su cocina como por su repostería. Haber nacido el 29 de septiembre le dio un toque especial a su día con el paso de los años. Tradicionalmente en Uruguay, el 29 de septiembre es un día especial, principalmente porque es el día del mes en que se acostumbra comer ñoquis. Así que Susana, siendo Susana y la gran cocinera que era, preparaba ñoquis no solo para su cumpleaños el 29 de septiembre, sino el 29 de cada mes para que toda su familia los disfrutara. Cocinar no era su única habilidad: Susana también era una repostera maravillosa y le encantaba preparar y decorar tortas de cumpleaños para cada persona en su día especial. Su talento también se extendía a la costura. Parecía que las manos de Susana nunca estaban ociosas, pero sin importar la actividad que realizara, siempre tenía consigo su termo de mate. El mate es conocido en Uruguay como una bebida con cafeína hecha con las hojas del mate, un árbol de acebo sudamericano, y todos están fascinados con él. En sus ratos libres, Susana se acurrucaba en su rincón favorito, leyendo sus queridos libros, en especial las novelas románticas que tanto le gustaban. Fuera lo que fuese, para Susana nada era más importante que pasar tiempo con su familia. Los adoraba a todos y cada uno de ellos, y su día se llenaba de una inmensa alegría al estar juntos, sin importar lo que hicieran. Eso completaba su mundo, más que cualquier otra cosa.

Además de sus padres, a Susana le precedió en la muerte su esposo, Alberto José Lledias, el 9 de marzo de 2001. Falleció en paz junto a su hija y yerno, Gabriela Lledias y Eduardo Viera, y su nieta, Paula Viera.

Susana era la luz brillante de su familia, luz que ahora se ha apagado. Su amor les ayudará a sobrellevar este doloroso camino de pérdida y duelo. Mantendremos a Susana y a su familia en nuestros pensamientos, sabiendo que la echaremos mucho de menos, pero que nunca la olvidaremos. ¡Que descanse en paz!

 Respetando los deseos de Susana, sus servicios funerarios fueron privados para la familia y será enterrada en su lugar de descanso final en Uruguay.

Mrs. Susana R. Garcia Rabuñal, 82, of Linden, New Jersey passed away on Saturday, November 15, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.

Susana, the daughter of the late Hortensia Rabuñal and the late Juan Garcia Pintos, was born on September 29, 1943, in Montevideo, Uruguay.  Susana came to the United States in 2015, residing in Elizabeth, New Jersey prior to settling in Linden in 2021.

Susana had a variety of interesting facets that made up her personal character.  She thoroughly enjoyed the peacefulness of walking.  During her years in Uruguay, her husband Alberto was a bus driver, and he would take her and family members on different trips together. 

She also liked to use her family pass to take the bus into the city to walk around, or to her favorite beaches to sunbathe. 

Even here in the states, Susana would follow the same routine, take a bus into New York City and then walk around for hours.  At home, she was known for both her cooking and baking.  Being born on September 29th. instilled a specialness in her day as the years went by.  Traditionally in Uruguay, September 29th. is special because primarily it is the day of the month when people traditionally eat ñoquis.  So, Susana being Susana and the great cook that she was, made ñoquis not only on September 29th., but on the 29th of each month for her entire family to enjoy.  Cooking was not her only skill – Susana also was a wonderful baker, and she delighted in making everyone a delicious and decorated birthday cake on their special day.  Her talent extended to being an excellent seamstress, as well. It seemed that Susana’s hands were never idle, but whatever activity she was engaged in, she always had her thermos of Mate with her.  Mate is renown in Uruguay as a caffeinated beverage made from the leaves of the South American holly tree, and everyone is obsessed with drinking it.  Susana’s down time would find her tucked into her favorite spot, reading her beloved books, particularly the romantic novellas that she was so fond of.  Whatever Susana was involved with, it was never more important to her than spending time with her family.  She adored each and every one of them and her day was filled with abundant joy from being together, no matter what they were doing.  It completed her world, beyond anything else.  

In addition to her parents, Susana was predeceased by her husband Alberto José Lledias on March 9, 2001.She passed peacefully alongside her daughter and son-in-law, Gabriela Lledias and Eduardo Viera and her granddaughter Paula Viera. 

Susana was the brilliant light in her family that has now been dimmed.  Her love will help carry all of them on this heartbreaking journey of loss and grief. We will keep Susana and her family in our thoughts, knowing that Susana will be deeply missed, but she will never be forgotten.  May she rest in Eternal Peace!  

With respect to Susana’ wishes, her funeral services were private for the family and she will be interred in her final resting place in Uruguay.
