In 2011, Stephen was honored as the “Historian of the Year” by the Linden Historical Society, and in 2015, he was chosen as Linden’s 39th Annual Outstanding Senior Citizen of the Year for displaying the most exceptional service to his community.
He was predeceased by his two sisters, Eleanor Sharo and Doris Sedia.

Zielinski; his daughter-in-law, Lorraine McKeown; his sister and brother-in-law, Margie and Edward Galiszewski; his grandchildren and his great grandchildren, along with his many nieces, nephews and friends.
