Mrs. Stephanie Joanne Nunez, 34, died Friday, August 14, 2020 surrounded by love, in the Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York City, New York, after a long battle.
All funeral services will be private.
Stephanie, the daughter of Anita Fontes and Luis Aranguren, was born in Montevideo, Uruguay. She came to the United States in 1990, settling in Newark, New Jersey.
Stephanie was employed as a universal banker for the Valley Bank in Newark, New Jersey since 2017.
In her free time, Stephanie just wanted to experience everything that life has to offer. She was an artist in many venues. Stephanie was a painter of flowers, landscapes, or anything nature oriented and she enjoyed using all mediums, but especially watercolors. She was a tattoo artist and admired the art of the ink and what it could express. Her artistic side also crossed over into photography. Stephanie enrolled in formal classes in a photography school and then put her knowledge to good use by working in a photography studio. When taking her own pictures, Stephanie’s portfolio presentation would run the gamut from black and white photos to those involving brilliant, vivid colors. With her personal appearance, Stephanie was very much a girly girl. She loved using and experimenting with makeup and she learned how to do the pin up hairstyles of the 1960’s that she was fascinated with. Stephanie’s free spirit could also be found riding on the back seat of a motorcycle, enjoying the freedom of the open air & the experience of traveling with the wind.
In addition to her parents, Stephanie is survived by the love of her life, her spouse, Maria N. Nunez-Castillo; her brother, Michael Aranguren and his wife, Victoria, her fraternal grandfather, Julio Aranguren, her mother-in-law, Bernalda Castillo and her two fur babies, Luna and Iris.
As per the regulations imposed through the State of New Jersey, there will now be a maximum of fifty (50) people allowed in the funeral home at one time. Face protection is also required as per state regulations. We thank you for your understanding during this time of transition.
