Rose M. (Capelli) Yashay

Mrs. Rose M. Capelli Yashay, 92, died Monday, April 27, 2020 in her home, surrounded by the love of her family.

Mrs. Yashay, the daughter of the late Mary Ferrari Capelli and the late Vincent Capelli, was born in Manhattan, New York City, New York.  At a very early age, her family moved to the residential community of Travis on Staten Island, New York, where Mrs. Yashay spent her childhood into her young adulthood years.  In 1950, after her marriage, she moved to Linden, New Jersey, where she resided until 2004, when Mrs. Yashay relocated to Scotch Plains, New Jersey.

While in Linden, Mrs. Yashay had been a communicant of the St. Theresa of the Child Jesus R.C. Church and later she became a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary R.C. Church in Scotch Plains.  She was also a member of the Scotch Plains Golden Agers. 

Mrs. Yashay was predeceased by her husband, Stanley A. Yashay on March 30, 1994, as well as, her two brothers, Louis Capelli and Lawrence Capelli and her sister, Katherine Smarsch.

Mrs. Yashay is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Stanley D. & Patricia J. Yashay and her two grandchildren, Allison Yashay and Scott Yashay.

Due to the COV-19 federal and state restrictions on public gatherings, all funeral services will be private.  That privacy will also extend to the prayers of committal, as well as, Mrs. Yashay’s burial in the family plot in St. Gertrude’s Cemetery in Colonia, New Jersey.

A memorial mass to celebrate Mrs. Yashay will be planned for a future date, when all family and friends can attend.
