Romualda (Dabrowska) Paszkowski

Romualda Paszkowski, 88, of Elizabeth, NJ, passed away peacefully into the arms of the Lord on Thursday, April 16th, 2026.

We respectfully request that no one arrive at the funeral home prior to the posted visitation times, so as not to intrude on the family’s private time. 

Family and friends are invited to the memorial visitation in the Kowalski Funeral Home, 515 Roselle Street, Linden on Friday, April 24th. from 8:30AM to 9:30AM.  At the conclusion of the memorial visitation we will proceed with a traditional funeral procession to Mt. Calvary Cemetery where the Prayers of Committal and the burial of Romualda’s cremated remains will take place in the family plot at 10:00AM.  The cremation in Rosehill Crematory in Linden was private.

Romualda was born in Mierucie, Poland to parents Jozef and Anna Dabrowski in 1938.  She spent her early years in Poland, before meeting her husband Ryszard, and moving to the United States where they built a good life for themselves.  Romualda worked in food service at the Elizabeth General Hospital for over 30 years.  She and Ryszard had a wonderful life together; over 40 years filled with love and family, before his passing in 2002.

Romualda was always “put-together” and really made an effort to present herself well.  She was known for always having her hair done and styled.  She enjoyed trips to Atlantic city in her later years, and she was a fan of playing the slot machines.  In her younger years, she went back and forth to Poland quite often and had friends and extended family both in the United States and Poland.  Romualda was also quite talented at gardening and writing poems.  In various holiday cards, she would often write a personalized poem for the person she was sending it to. Romualda was a loving wife and mother, and family meant the world to her.

She is predeceased by her parents, Jozef and Anna Dabrowski, her beloved husband, Ryszard Paszkowski, and her son Darjusz “Darek” Paszkowski.  Romualda is survived by her daughter-in-law, who was also Romualda’s recent caretaker, Dorota Paskowska, her sister, Barbara Marcinczyk and her brother, Jan Dabrowski.

The ones left behind take solace knowing that Romualda was welcomed into the gates of heaven by her husband and her son, and she will rest eternally.
