Mrs. Romualda Szczepanska Bielawska, 91, died Wednesday, June 2, 2021, in her home surrounded by her loving family.
Visitation is on Tuesday, June 8th. from 6:00 – 8:00 PM in the Kowalski Funeral Home, 515 Roselle Street, Linden. On Wednesday, June 9th., family and friends will gather in the funeral home at 8:30AM where a prayer service will be held at 9:00AM followed by the funeral mass to be offered in St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Roman Catholic Church, Linden at 10:00AM. The prayers of committal will follow in the chapel of Rosehill Crematory in Linden. The inurnment of her cremains in the family plot in Poland, alongside her husband, will take place in the future.
Mrs. Bielawska, the daughter of the late Kamila Ryzewska Szczepanska and the late Adam Szczepanski, was born in Kamionka, Poland. She came to the United States on Thanksgiving Day in 1991 and she quickly settled in Linden, New Jersey.
Mrs. Bielawska worked in the housekeeping department of the Clarion Hotel in Edison, New Jersey for ten years prior to her retirement in 2002. While living in Poland, Mrs. Bielawska worked in the same industry for many years.
Mrs. Bielawska was deeply religious in her Catholic faith, attending church when she was able to and praying the rosary daily. In her earlier years she enjoyed knitting and was known for her beautiful afghans. Her free time was spent watching Polish television or reading Polish magazines. Mrs. Bielawska was recognized throughout her family as an excellent cook and she embraced her love of cooking by serving up large meals for her family, whether it was a simple weekday dinner or a holiday extravaganza.
Mrs. Bielawska was predeceased by her husband, Stanislaw Bielanski; her son, Antoni Bielawski and her daughter, Krystyna Bielawska Jarmolowska. Mrs. Bielawska is survived by her son, Edward Bielawski; her son-in-law, Jozef Jarmolowski; her daughter-in-law, Jadwiga Bielawska; her ten grandchildren and her thirteen great grandchildren.
