Mr. Robert Dariusz Eluszkiewicz, 59, entered the arms of the Lord, surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, January 15, 2025.
We respectfully request that no one arrive at the funeral home prior to the posted visitation times, so as not to intrude on the family’s private time.
Family and friends are invited to the visitation in the Kowalski Funeral Home, 515 Roselle Street, Linden on Saturday, January 18th. from 2:00-4:00PM. The cremation in Rosehill Crematory, Linden will be private, and Robert’s cremated remains will be buried in the family plot in Poland at a future date.
Robert, the son of the late Wieslawa Bormanska Eluszkiewicz and Lech Eluszkiewicz, was born in Warsaw, Poland. He came to the United States in 2005, residing in Brooklyn, New York before relocating to Edison, New Jersey four years ago.
While in Poland, Robert had an extensive career at a photography studio where he engaged in taking pictures of a variety of subjects, including portraits, landscapes and still life. That career translated into a continuing hobby for Robert here in the States and although he worked in many mediums, his favorites were the black and white shots. Robert followed up with a sixteen-year work history as a self-employed maintenance man and driver, both in the New York and New Jersey area until June of 2024, when his health forced him to retire.
His other interests included playing video games and watching science fiction movies, especially the Marvel features with their various superheroes and characters. The open road was forever calling Robert as he strapped his helmet on and took off on his Harley-Davidson motorcycle for hours on end. Literature wise, Robert engaged in constantly exploring the history of the world and the many continents and countries, especially his birthplace of Poland. A true lover of the United States, Robert was so proud of earning his American citizenship and he was a very patriotic man who loved the flag.
Predeceased by his mother and survived by his father, Robert also leaves behind his wife, Joanna Gwiazdon Eluszkiewicz; his three sons, Robert Eluszkiewicz, Jr., Marcien Sokolowski and Maciej Sokolowski.
Robert was the center of life for his family, and he had an abundance of love for everyone in his circle. He will be deeply missed, but Robert will never be forgotten.
