Rob, the son of the late Mary S. Colish and Robert F. Colish, was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey and Rob was raised and lived his entire life in Linden, New Jersey.

Rob enjoyed a thirty-year career as a graphic artist, and he was currently employed by VCNY Home in North Bergen for the past ten years.

In his free time, Rob never put the pencil down, because drawing was his passion, and his personal portfolio is extensive.  He was constantly amazing everyone with his wide-ranging talents with a simple black and white pencil.  Rob also loved to read, mostly mysteries and horror stories.  His favorite author was Stephen King and one of his favorite books was Don Quixote by Miguel de Cervantes.  He was definitely a movie buff, enjoying all genres of film and Rob had quite a massive collection of movies on all formats, particularly audio and DVD.  For someone who had these interests, you would be surprised to know that Rob was an avid baker and cook.  His two premier desserts were an awesome chocolate mousse and his cheesecake.  On the food side, his main dishes usually involved shrimp, which Rob loved and a lot of his co-workers were the beneficiaries of all these treats.

Predeceased by his mother, Mary S. Colish in 2014, Rob is survived by his father, Robert F. Colish; his three brothers, Jeffrey Colish and his wife, Sandra, Kevin Colish and his wife, Donna and Douglas Colish; his seven nieces and nephews, Eric Colish, Kevin Colish, Julianna Colish, Adrianna Colish, Austin Colish, Ainsley Colish and Andrew Melnizek and Rob’s friends, co-workers and neighbors.

Rob, through his art, saw the beauty of the world around him and transferred his vision to the paper.  We were lucky enough to witness and be amazed by his talents.  Rob, as his family called him or Robert as he was known to everyone else, will be deeply missed, but he will never be forgotten.
