Mrs. Rina A. Tonalezzi, 83, entered the arms of the Lord on Thursday, August 31, 2023.
We respectfully request that no one arrive at the funeral home prior to the posted visitation times, so as not to intrude on the family’s private time.
Family and friends are invited to the memorial visitation in the Kowalski Funeral Home, 515 Roselle Street, Linden on Sunday, September 10th. from 2:00-4:00PM. The cremation in Rosehill Crematory, Linden was private.
Rina, the daughter of the late Celsa Novaretti Lamanna and the late Vito Antonio Lamanna, was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil. She came to the United States in 2005, residing in Orlando, Florida and Fort Lee, New Jersey before settling in Elizabeth, New Jersey in 2005.
Rina loved children and she worked as a teacher’s assistant in Our Lady of Fatima School in Newark, New Jersey for a few years prior to retiring in 2012.
Rina was a lover of all things artistic. She enjoyed painting in the acrylic medium on canvas and her focus was on her favorite subjects, angels, and flowers, especially roses and tulips. Visiting art galleries was a favorite pastime of hers. Rina was also known for her knitting of hats and sweaters, as she opted to use bright and crazy color combinations that really stood out. Music was deeply a part of her soul and as an accomplished pianist, you would often find Rina playing various selections of classical music by many different composers. Her love of family, however, was what truly brought joy to her heart and a smile to her face. Nothing in this world was more important to her than her family!
Rina unfortunately had her share of losses in her life; her husband, Jose Tonalezzi in 2003 and her eldest son, Marco Tonalezzi in 2022.
Rina is survived by her son, Carlo Tonalezzi and his wife, Wendy; her daughter, Tatiana Tonalezzi; her daughter-in-law, Paula Tonalezzi and her three grandchildren, Raphael Tonalezzi, Vanessa Tonalezzi and Justin Tonalezzi.
Rina was the essence of the Tonalezzi family. Hearts are broken and tears fill the family’s eyes, as they mourn the loss of their beloved mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother. Please keep Rina and her family in your prayers. Rina was a special lady who can never be replaced, and she will never be forgotten.
