Richard, the son of the late Maria “Mary” Pawlik Lubas and the late Kazimierz Lubas, was born and raised in Elizabeth, New Jersey. He resided in Linden, New Jersey for before settling in Hazlet , New Jersey.
Richard was employed by Merck & Co. for forty-three years, as a chemical dispensing operator and fire fighter. He ended his career with Merck at their facility in Kenilworth, New Jersey in 2014.
Throughout his life, Richard loved to travel and enjoy his vacations whether it was at destinations such as Las Vegas, Ireland, Aruba or locally, here in Atlantic City. You could always find him at various places along the Jersey Shore, but Richard’s favorite spot was the family home in Bayville. He loved being around family but one exceptional trait that made Richard stand apart from everyone else was the recognition that Richard was very outgoing, enjoyed socializing with people and would always be there for anyone if you ever needed him. Even if you just met Richard, his gregarious personality made it seem as if you knew him forever. He was a special person that you could never forget.
Richard is survived by his son, Stephen R. Lubas and his wife, Christina; his brother, Allen Lubas; his companion Filomena Burgos; best friends Elaine Lubas, Robert Brotman and Stephanie Magierowski.
Richard will be sorely missed by all who knew him and loved him, but he will never be forgotten!
