Ralph L Perez

Mr. Ralph L. Perez, 54, of Old Bridge, New Jersey entered the arms of the Lord on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, in the Hackensack University Medical Center, after many years of battling his severe illness. 

We respectfully request that no one arrive at the funeral home prior to the posted visitation times, so as not to intrude on the family’s private time. 

Family and friends are invited to the visitation in the Kowalski Funeral Home, 515 Roselle Street, Linden on Wednesday, July 12th. from 4:00-8:00PM.  On Thursday, July 13th. at 10:00AM, everyone will start to gather in the funeral home where a prayer service, offered by the Reverend Bryan Wolf, will begin at 10:30AM.  The prayers of committal will precede Ralph’s burial in the family plot in Rosedale Cemetery, Linden, New Jersey.

Ralph was born in Havana, Cuba and he came to the United States in 1973, living for many years in the Bronx, New York before settling in Old Bridge, New Jersey in 2003.

Ralph had a twenty plus year career in the security industry, working for major firms, such as Saks 5th. Avenue and Barney’s, both in New York City.  His last post was head of security for Sony, also in New York City, before his illness forced him to retire in 2009.

Ralph was a very likeable and loveable person, who would light up any room that he entered.  He could talk your ear off, but Ralph was always interested in what you had to add to the conversation as well.  Movies were his go to for relaxation - mostly action, comedy, horror and drama – well let’s face it, just about any genre of movie was right up Ralph’s alley.  Music moved his soul; especially free style and it was constantly blasting through the speakers.  Staying with the arts, Ralph was a photographer who was forever taking pictures; black and white, color, landscapes, candid shots of people and even many selfies of himself over the years.  He could fill a mountain of picture albums with all his work.  Fancy cars always caught Ralph’s eye, especially anything with the Mercedes Benz emblem on the hood.  He loved the purr of the engine and the feeling of freedom driving a smooth car with great maneuverability, particularly at a fast pace.  Everybody knew that Ralph was not a cook or a master chef, but he certainly knew how to order out to dine in or visit his favorite spots for a bite to eat.  Even with all these interests, there was nothing more important to Ralph than his family.  Ralph was a wonderful father and he loved to spend time with his family, doing anything, everything, or nothing at all.  It didn’t have to be a big social gathering or even a holiday.  For Ralph, just sitting on the sofa and talking was more than enough for him.  The love he had for his family was enormous and he wasn’t afraid to show it. 

Ralph is survived by his son, Christopher Rafael Perez; his daughter, Alexis Sophia Perez; his mother, Susana Montoto and the mother of his children, Daisey Bonett.

To know Ralph was to love him!  Our hearts are broken, and our eyes are filled with tears at the loss of our beloved Ralph.  He will be deeply missed, but Ralph will never be forgotten.
