On Wednesday, January 7, 2025, Mr. Peter Toscak, 52, left his earthly home, surrounded by the love and care of his family.
We respectfully request that no one arrive at the funeral home prior to the posted visitation times, so as not to intrude on the family’s private time.
Family and friends are invited to the visitation in the Kowalski Funeral Home, 515 Roselle Street, Linden on Sunday, January 11th. from 1:00-4:00PM. The cremation in Rosehill Crematory in Linden will be private.
Peter, the son of Jarmila Ivanova Toscakova and Pavol Toscak, was born in Michalovce, Slovakia. He came to the United States in October of 2005 where he settled in Linden, New Jersey.
A man instilled by his parents with a strong work ethic, Peter was a self-employed businessman/entrepreneur and the owner of Petos Construction in Linden, where he worked in both residential and commercial building.
In his earlier years in Slovakia, Peter was very active playing hockey where he focused on his position as the team goalie. As he got older, his passion for the sport never diminished, but his enjoyment now came from watching hockey, with teams and games played in both the American and European arena. Peter’s free time was spent doing all the traditional things that gave him pleasure in his home country…smoking meats, canning foods, cooking up various delicacies for family and friends to share. Peter was so very proud of his heritage. He was forever taking pictures of his family, especially his grandchildren. He would focus on making collages of these pictures and then show them to anyone & everyone. He also got a great chuckle telling his wife what to do or how to do something, whether she listened to him or not. It was part of the charm of their relationship and marriage. Peter’s greatest joy in life was being with his family. It truly didn’t matter what they were doing; whether it was a huge celebration party or simply sitting around the kitchen table with a cup of coffee and a cookie. His family meant the world to him, and he would move heaven and earth to do anything for them without question.
In addition to his parents, Peter is survived by his wife of thirty-two years, Renata Locihova Toscakova; his son, Peter Toscak and his wife, Stephanie Rubianes-Pisani; his daughter, Veronika Robinson and her husband, Christopher Reid Robinson; his brothers and sister, Rastislav Toscak, Silvia Toscakova and Pavol Toscak; his grandchildren, Mikaela Rubie Toscak and Riley Matthew Robinson and Peter’s many business associates, neighbors and friends.
Peter was the guiding light of his family that has now dimmed. Broken hearts, tear-filled eyes and so many memories are all that remain. Let us gather around the family offering our support and love to help them find their way on this new journey without Peter. Peter, who had an abundance of love for everyone in his circle will be deeply missed, but he will never be forgotten. May Peter have eternal rest.
