Obituary

Mr. Oscar Garcia, 65, entered the arms of the Lord surrounded by his heavenly angels and is now keeping watch over his earthly family.

Oscar, the son of the late Petra Cruz Vazquez Garcia and the late Modesto Garcia was born in Corozal, Puerto Rico.  He came to the mainland United States in 1976 and he settled immediately in Newark, New Jersey.

Oscar worked for many years for a Hillside, New Jersey company that specialized in window manufacturing and installation.

In his free time, Oscar could be found enjoying the beach with the sand in between his toes, the sun shining on his face and swimming in the water.  He also made sure to get a little fishing in when he could.  Music was a big part of his life, whether it was salsa, merengue, bachata or bomba.  Oscar was a very proud Puerto Rican who returned to his birthplace many times throughout the years to spend time with family and friends.  He was similarly very blessed with the family he had and was known as the ultimate babysitter!  There is nothing better in one’s life than to be surrounded by children who shower you with their unbounded love

Oscar is survived by his two daughter, Joanna Garcia and Virginia Lee Garcia and his six grandchildren, Yessenia Romero, Alondra Romero, Elmer Romero, Jr., Ashley Caridad Romero, Abigal Bermudez and Adrian Chris Bermudez.

Oscar has left his broken-hearted family way too soon.  There were still may more adventures to share and memories to make.  Oscar will be deeply missed, but he will never be forgotten.

With respect to the family’s wishes, Oscar’s funeral services were private.
