Nicole, the daughter of Lynn Rule Gavilanes and the late Fernando Gavilanes (2014), was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey, where she lived until relocating to Plainfield, New Jersey three years ago.
Nicole, always a friendly and outgoing personality, worked in customer service for Avis Car Rental for a number of years.
In her spare time, Nicole enjoyed playing the card game, Phase 10. She was an ace at video gaming, so much so, that Nicole was gaming at the competitive level. She was a world traveler whose bags were often packed in a flash to visit far off places, including the exotic islands and many European countries. But even with all these adventures, the most important joy in Nicole’s life came from spending time with her family, especially her niece and her three nephews, Leia, Jayden Jeremiah, and Juan. Backyard BBQ’s were her favorite get together because everyone would show up for a great afternoon of food, fun, music and games, that often extended into the evening hours. Nicole understood the value and importance of joining together as a family and the memories that were made to cherish forever.
In addition to her mother, Lynn Gavilanes, Nicole is survived by her four brothers, Kevin Gavilanes, Timothy J. Gavilanes and his fiancée, Mayra Ojeda, Corey Gavilanes and Fernando Gavilanes, Jr.; her sister, Mackenzie Gavilanes; her fiancée, Jamie Ayala and her many aunts, uncles, cousins, other family members, co-workers, neighbors, and friends.
Nicole, the shining light of her family, has now been dimmed by this loss. Her family is heartbroken, and tears fill their eyes. Please keep Nicole’s family in your prayers, as they now try to navigate a life without Nicole. They will need all of your love and support.
