Michelle Drewa Obituary

Ms. Michelle Drewa, 41, of Clark, New Jersey was given her angel wings on Monday, March 28, 2022, when she passed away at the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Rahway, New Jersey.

We respectfully asked that you do not arrive at the funeral home prior to the stated visitation times, so as not to intrude on the private time for Michelle’s Mom.  Family and friends are invited to the visitation in the Kowalski Funeral Home, 515 Roselle Street, Linden on Sunday, April 3rd. from 3:00-5:00PM.  On Monday, April 4th. at 8:30AM, everyone will start to gather in the funeral home where a prayer service will begin at 9:00AM, followed by the funeral mass to be offered in St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Roman Catholic Church in Linden at 10:00AM.  The prayers of committal will precede Michelle’s entombment in the family crypt in St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia, New Jersey.  The family requests that you please omit flowers.

Until a few years ago, Michelle was a retail manager for Things Remembered, an engraving company in Bridgewater, New Jersey for seven years.

Her life was always brimming with activities.  Michelle loved Korean music or “K-Pop”, as it is known, and she could be found at any local Michael Bublé concert or the shows of Jeff Dunham, a comic and ventriloquist.  Her Christmas holidays were never complete, unless she saw the Trans-Siberian Orchestra.  Michelle’s palate leaned toward Asian foods, including their specialty teas and she was forever looking for new Asian restaurants to try.  She kept active with Zumba and yoga, yet Michelle settled in to relax by reading literature and books of all types.  She added in some television watching, including reality show, dramas, but definitely the “Golden Girls” were at the top of her must watch list.  Movies were also her go to – but they better be somewhat sappy movies or the rom-coms, romantic comedies.  Michelle was very adventurous in that she would take off on the spur of the moment with friends to do a “same day road trip” and explore the surrounding states.  She was ready for whatever experiences were ahead while traveling on the road.  Even with all of this, the greatest joy in Michelle’s life was taking care of her Mom and spending time with Mom and her very special circle of friends that she considered her “sisters”.

Predeceased by her father, Richard A. Drewa in 2019, Michelle is survived by her mother, Halina Korkus Drewa; her best friends, Kathy Gabriel and Jennifer Rada and her fiancé, Jason Goodridge; her honorary niece, Amelia Goodridge; her aunts, Kazimiera Wrublewski, Halina Okwiet and her husband, Wieslaw, Danuta Drewa and her several cousins.

Michelle was always smiling and a joy to be with.  Her love for her family and friends was overflowing.  Michelle will be deeply missed, but she will never be forgotten.
