Mark, the son of the later Maryann A. Wielgus Matlosz (2011) and the late Bernard J. Matlosz (1995) was born and raised in Elizabeth, New Jersey. Prior to his death, Mark continued to resided in the family home that was originally owned by his grandparents; a home that held quite a bit of sentimentality, memories and family history.

He would do anything with and for Ryan, especially working with the model trains. When he had some time off, Mark headed to the shore, enjoying the local beaches and activities at Sandy Hook, Keansburg and especially Manahawkin.
In addition to his parents and his son, Mark was also predeceased by his sister, Susan Cooper (2014) and his niece, Sharon Marie Cooper (2002).
