Mark Matlosz Obituary

Mr. Mark Joseph Matlosz, 55, died Thursday, March 25, 2021 in the Trinitas Hospital in Elizabeth, New Jersey.

Mark, the son of the later Maryann A. Wielgus Matlosz (2011) and the late Bernard J. Matlosz (1995) was born and raised in Elizabeth, New Jersey.  Prior to his death, Mark continued to resided in the family home that was originally owned by his grandparents; a home that held quite a bit of sentimentality, memories and family history.

Until his heath started to deteriorate 26 months ago, Mark had been employed as a draftsman for Marine Design and Operations, Inc. in Colonia for thirty years

Everyone knew that Mark was a gifted musician and a talented singer.  He took music lessons as an adolescent and Mark had a natural ability for the guitar, playing all forms of that instrument.  Mark preformed in the local area, both as a soloist and as part of a band.  His other indulgence was his late son, Ryan C. Matlosz (2018).  He would do anything with and for Ryan, especially working with the model trains.  When he had some time off, Mark headed to the shore, enjoying the local beaches and activities at Sandy Hook, Keansburg and especially Manahawkin.

In addition to his parents and his son, Mark was also predeceased by his sister, Susan Cooper (2014) and his niece, Sharon Marie Cooper (2002).

Mark is survived by his wife, Elizabeth “Beth” J. Kotarski; his aunt and uncle; his cousins and his many friends, neighbors, and former co-workers.

In accordance with Mark’s wishes, his cremation will be private.
