Mrs. Maria F. Rodriguez Di Lollo, known by everyone as “Marina”, entered the heavenly house of the Lord, surrounded by the love of her husband, John, on Friday, Juy 28, 2023.
Marina, the daughter of Paulina Rodriguez and Giordano Medel, was born in Pinar del Rio, Cuba. She came to the United States in 1971 and Marina resided in Elizabeth, New Jersey before settling in Linden, New Jersey in 1985.
Marina was one of the first women to work on the assembly line at General Motors in Linden. Following a long career there, Marina transferred over to Schering-Plough in Union where she worked the night shift in the building maintenance and cleaning department for a few years. Marina then decided to redirect her energies and in 1976 she retired from the work force.
Marina was an artistic and independent woman who was devoted to her granddaughter and her daughter. Her greatest joy was using her talented hands to create beautiful clothing for her girls, and gorgeous decorations for her home. Marina doted on her husband and family so that they could be their very best.
Marina is survived by her husband of forty-six years, John A. Di Lollo; her granddaughter, Nuri Pentangelo; her two great grandchildren, Jude Pentangelo and Bella Pentangello; her daughter, Nury Sifuentes; her extended family in Cuba, Florida, Virginia, and New Jersey and her many neighbors and friends.
Marina was the center of life for her family, and she had an abundance of love for everyone in her circle. Marina will be deeply missed, but she will never be forgotten.
With respect to the family’s wishes, all Marina’s services will be private.
