Mrs. Lynn M. Gavilanes, 59, embraced the heavenly kingdom on Monday, September 8, 2025, surrounded by the loving care of her family.
We respectfully request that no one arrive at the funeral home prior to the posted visitation times, so as not to intrude on the family’s private time.
Family and friends are invited to the memorial visitation in the Kowalski Funeral Home, 515 Roselle Street, Linden on Friday, September 19th. from 5:00-8:00PM. The cremation in Rosehill Crematory in Linden was private.
Lynn, the daughter of the late Hannah Mitchum Rule and the late James Rule was born in Rahway, New Jersey, where she resided for many years prior to moving to Monroeville, Pennsylvania.
In her younger years Lynn played basketball, but as the years went by, she truly enjoyed watching all sports, especially her NFL NY Giants and her favorite Ecuadorian soccer team – “Barcelona”. Lynn was also a devoted computer geek, spending hours upon hours surfing and exploring so many different subjects. She used this knowledge and her computer skills to become a published author of three romance novels – quite an accomplishment! All in all, Lynn embraced the peaceful stye of life, but the best part of her life was time spent with her children. There was nothing in the world that was more important to her or that gave her greater joy!
Lynn unfortunately had her share of losses in her life; her husband, Fernando Gavilanes (2014) and her daughter, Nicole B. “Jerzee” Gavilanes (2023). Lynn leaves behind the broken hearts of her five children, Mackenzie Gavilanes and her fiancé, Alexander, Kevin Gavilanes, Timothy J. Gavilanes and his fiancé, Mayra Ojeda, Corey Gavilanes and Fernando Gavilanes, Jr.; her sister, Barbara Betts; her five grandchildren, Jayden, Jeremiah, Juan, Leia and Aria and Lynn’s many cousins, friends and neighbors.
The loss of Lynn at such a young age leaves her family reeling in disbelief, confusion and pain. Gather your arms around her family and offer them an abundance of love. Be there for them in their time of need, because now and certainly even in the future, is when they will need your support the most. Lynn will be missed beyond measure, but she will forever be in our hearts, our minds and our prayers. May Lynn find eternal rest and peace with the Lord.
