Loretta A. Karr

Ms. Loretta “Reggie” A. Karr, 80, died Friday, April 10, 2020 in the Haven Hospice at John F. Kennedy Medical Center in Edison, New Jersey.

Reggie, the daughter of the late Louise J. Rokose Karr and the late Walter J. Karr, was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey.  She resided in Linden, New Jersey for forty-eight years prior to moving to Westfield, New Jersey for two years, followed by Edison, New Jersey for fourteen years and then Reggie settled in Scotch Plains, New Jersey in 2017.

She had been employed as a legal secretary for thirty-five years, working for various firms and corporations, including Hess Oil & Chemical Company, Greenbaum, Rowe & Smith, Attorneys at Law, Wilentz, Goldman & Spitzer, Attorneys at Law, Superior Court of New Jersey, Union County Division – Edward W. Beglin, Jr., Assignment Judge, Howard D. Spialter, Esq., Merck & Co., Mack-Cali Legal Department, Engelhard Industries, U.S. Lines Legal Departments and Kean University.

In addition to her parents, Reggie was predeceased by her brother, Ronald W. Karr in 2015.

Reggie is survived by her cousins, friends and co-workers.

Due to the COV-19 federal and state restrictions on public gatherings, all funeral services will be private.  That privacy will also extend to the prayers of committal, as well as, Reggie’s burial in the family plot in St. Gertrude’s Cemetery in Colonia, New Jersey.
