Lisa E Rivera

Obituary

Mrs. Lisa E. Rivera, 52, broke our hearts on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, when she passed away in the Overlook Medical Center in Summit, New Jersey.

All the funeral services, including the visitation and the cremation, were private.

Lisa was born in New Brunswick, New Jersey and she lived in Elizabeth for many years before settling in Linden fifteen years ago,

An outgoing and lovable personality, Lisa enjoyed being outdoors and appreciating nature.  She would often ride her bike around, keeping her camera ever at the ready.  Lisa had the eye of an artist, and she was forever taking picture, both black and white or color.  A majority of her subjects were reflective of the scenes that she encountered on those rides, mostly animals of all kinds and the glory of nature.  Lisa could often be found at her favorite places along the Jersey Shore, especially Sandy Hook or Island State Park.  She thoroughly enjoyed the smell of the salt air, the sound of the waves rolling in, the sunshine and puffy white clouds in a bright blue sky and her toes in the sand.  The silence and peacefulness of fishing was another one of her hobbies and it didn’t matter whether it was fresh water or salt water, as she appreciated the experiences of both.  Lisa had the travel bug and would go with anyone from her family or friends to explore the various parts of our country.  She loved the simplicity and freedom of the open road.  Even with all of this, Lisa’s heart and life were devoted with endless love and care to her family.  It didn’t matter what they were doing, all that was important was the time spent with her husband and children.  She cherished each memory made with them!

Predeceased by her father, Gabriel Rivera and her sister, Cynthia Williams, Lisa is survived by the love of her life and her husband of twenty-seven years, Peter A. Fiorito; her four children Daniel Rivera and his wife, Olgaines, Anthony Fiorito, Melissa Rone, Brittney Fiorito and her fiancée, Luis Martins; her three grandchildren Daniel Marc Rivera, Jr., Izabelle Ines Rivera and Giovanni J. Vives; her two brothers, Michael Colon and David Colon and her other family, friends and neighbors.

Lisa was the center of life for her family, and she had an abundance of love for everyone in her circle.  She will be deeply missed, but Lisa will never be forgotten.
