Mrs. Leonor Lopez Munoz, 87, died Tuesday, March 30, 2021 in the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Rahway, New Jersey.

Family and friends are invited to the visitation which will be held in the Kowalski Funeral Home, 515 Roselle Street, Linden on Saturday, April 3rd. from 1:00-4:00PM.  During the visitation at 2:00PM there will be a prayer service in the funeral home offered by Reverend Alexander T. Mrs. Munoz, the daughter of the late Maria and Juan Lopez, was born in Aguada, Puerto Rico.  She came to the mainland United States in 1960 and Mrs. Munoz lived in Elizabeth, New Jersey for almost a year before setting in Linden, New Jersey where she has resided for the past fifty-two years.

Mrs. Munoz work in various factories in the local area, among them the Hamilton Laundromat in Rahway, New Jersey. After a sixteen-year career, she retired in 1989 and then started to really enjoy her new life.

Mrs. Munoz in her younger years in Puerto Rico was very gifted in the art of embroidering gloves.  You could always find her doing doodle drawings, while she engaged in the relaxation of watching the television, especially the telenovelas.  She was also interested in watching the news, whether it be local, statewide or even international.  In her later years when her mobility became more difficult, Mrs. Munoz continued her devotion to her faith by watching the church services on the television.  Cooking was a major love and a favorite activity for Mrs. Munoz.  She was always cooking up delicious treats and family favorites, whether it be for special occasions or a simple family get together.  For Mrs. Munoz there was nothing more important having her family around her and spending quality time together.

Mrs. Munoz was predeceased by her husband, Antonio “Tonin” Munoz Rios; her two daughters, Haydee Munoz Bermudez and Norma Munoz; her 2 brothers and 1 sister.

Mrs. Munoz is survived by her son, Antonio Munoz; her daughter, Marilyn Munoz Brooks; her seven grandchildren and her countless nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.

As per the regulations imposed through the State of New Jersey, there will now be a maximum of one hundred people allowed in the funeral home and face protection is required.  We thank you for your understanding during this time of transition.
