Obituary

Mr. Leonard Bradbury, named at birth, Thelbert L. Bradbury, but known to all his family and friends as “Lenny” died on Monday, June 26, 2023, in Trinitas Hospital in Elizabeth, New Jersey.

Lenny, the son of the late Mildred Lee Bradbury and the late Thelbert S. Bradbury was born and raised in Newark, New Jersey.  He resided on Long Beach Island, specifically Brant Beach for thirty -two years, before settling in Elizabeth, New Jersey five years ago

Lenny worked for thirty years for the Stafford Township in their sanitation department before earning his well-deserved retirement on December 1, 2003.

Throughout his life, Lenny loved watching television, especially old Western movies with the characters portrayed by Roy Rogers or John Wayne.  Camping was Lenny’s long established pastime spent at Blueberry Hills, the Atlantic City campgrounds, where he made many friends over the years. Lenny was a Disney World fanatic.  He loved spending time with the Mouse at the Florida park!  Believe it or not, Lenny delighted in spending time shopping at the mall with his wife, Frances, after which they would usually participate in another of Lenny’s favorites – going out to eat!

Lenny is survived by his wife of forty-six years, Frances E. Schuman Bradbury; his two sons, Charles Frank and Michael Frank and his wife, Debra; his six grandchildren and his one great grandchild.
