Jozef Dutka

Mr. Jozef Dutka, 73, entered the arms of the Lord on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, surrounded by the love of his family.

We respectfully request that no one arrive at the funeral home prior to the posted visitation times, so as not to intrude on the family’s private time. 

Family and friends are invited to the memorial visitation in the Kowalski Funeral Home, 515 Roselle Street, Linden on Monday, December 18th. from 5:00-8:00PM.  The cremation in Rosehill Crematory in Linden was private. The family has asked that you please omit flowers.

Jozef, the son of the late Maria Zieba Dutka and the late Stefan Dutka was born in Pisarzowa, Poland.  He came to the United States in 1990 and he has resided in Roselle Park, New Jersey since 1999.

Throughout his life in Poland and here in the US, Jozef had a long career of over forty- years as an acupressure-massage therapist.  His illness earlier this year forced him to retire in May of 2023

Jozef found inner peace and relaxation in a variety of ways, including meditation.  He also enjoyed the beauty of nature, taking long walks around the parks and surrounding areas.  His career led him to be an avid reader of anything about alternative medicine, homeopathy or any other book that explored ways to heal the body and keep it healthy.  Chess was definitely his game! Jozef played at a master level, so much so, that no one really wanted to play against him because they knew he would always win.  Even with all of this, the most impressive aspect of Jozef was that he was a kind, loving soul who was friendly with everyone, and he never shied away from helping anyone in need.   

Jozef is survived by his companion of twenty-eight years, Malgorzata Malek; his three children, Monika Dutka, Artur Dutka and Jacek Dutka; his brother, Bronislaw Dutka; his sister, Anna Dutka; his granddaughter, Grace Rivers and his many clients, neighbors, and friends.

Jozef was a ray of light brightening the lives of all those around him.  Our hearts are broken that his light has now dimmed and his spirit is beyond our reach.  We know that since Jozef had an abundance of love for everyone in his circle, he will be deeply missed, but Jozef will never be forgotten.
