Jonathon (Valerie Rosa) Rivera

Jonathon Rivera, more fondly known as Valerie Rosa Rivera, 30, of East Orange unexpectedly passed away at her home in East Orange on June 3rd, 2024. All services will remain private for the family.

Valerie was born on April 27, 1994 in Newark, New Jersey, and spent most of her life in the Essex and Union County areas of New Jersey. She was always known as a true diva, with a glamorous fashion sense. She enjoyed getting her nails and lashes done, especially together with friends and family members, and joking or “clowning” around with them. She loved to joke and make jokes, and always had a very positive and bright aura and presence. Valerie enjoyed dressing nice and stylish, and of course, always had to have music playing. She had great taste in all types of music. Valerie was also known as a hard worker, hustling and putting in the time to make money. Above all else, she was a daughter, sister, niece, grand-daughter, and friend, and will truly be remembered and never forgotten.

Valerie is survived by her mother Maricely Rivera, her father Julio Castaing, her other mother Daisy Jiminez, her siblings Natal Castaing, Tiara Castaing, Desiree Perez, and Angel Perez, her grandmother and many other aunts, uncles, nephews, extended family and friends.

Although her light on this world may have dimmed, the light that Valerie instilled in our hearts still burns bright, and that light can never be diminished. Watch over your loved ones Valerie, and find peace in your eternal rest.
