John Demkowicz Obituary

Mr. John Michael Demkowicz, 55, died Friday, May 8, 2020 at his home in Long Pond, Pennsylvania.

John, the son of Dorothy Winkler and the late Walter Demkowicz (2007), was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey.  He grew up in Linden, New Jersey making lifelong friends and later he lived in Keasbey, New Jersey for seven years before moving to Long Pond, Pennsylvania in 2010.

John was a heavy machine operator for over twenty five years working in the construction industry, until he retired two years ago.

As a young man of 17, John served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps.  In his spare time, he loved to fish, mostly salt water, but lately he was spending more time fishing in fresh water.  John, always the adventurous man, enjoyed boating, dirt bike riding and working on cars, especially doing engine work.  For all of his work and his extra activities, everyone knew that John had an incredibly big and generous heart and that he had a gift for lifting your spirits by making you laugh.

In addition to his father, John was also predeceased by his sister, Phyllis Demkowicz in 2018.

John leaves behind the broken hearts of his son, Devin Demkowicz; his mother, Dorothy Winkler; his four brothers and sisters, Walter Demkowicz, Michael Demkowicz and his wife, Jana, Krystyna Demkowicz Barron and Pauline Demkowicz and his grandchild, Dylan Demkowicz.

Due to the COV-19 federal and state restrictions on public gatherings, all John’s funeral services will be private.
