Mrs. Jennie J. Warzecha Michalski, 98, entered the arms of the Lord guided by His heavenly angels on Monday, March 17, 2025.

We respectfully request that no one arrive at the funeral home prior to the posted visitation times, so as not to intrude on the family’s private time.

Family and friends are invited to the visitation in the Kowalski Funeral Home, 515 Roselle Street, Linden on Friday, March 21st. from 4:00-7:30PM.  On Saturday, March 22nd. at 8:30AM, everyone will start to gather in the funeral home where a prayer service will begin at 9:00AM, followed by the funeral mass to be offered in St. Elizabeth of Hungary Roman Catholic Church in Linden at 10:00AM.  The prayers of committal will precede Mrs. Michalski’s burial in the family plot in St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia, New Jersey.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Jennie’s name can be made to St. Joseph Assisted living, 3 St. Joseph Terrace, Woodbridge, NJ 07095 or online at http://www.stjosephseniorhome.org/contribute/

Jennie, the daughter of the late Eva Kabat Warzecha and the late John Warzecha was born and raised in Mayfield, Pennsylvania.  In 1956 Jennie came to Linden, New Jersey where she and her late husband, John, settled in and raised their family until 2020 when Jennie relocated to Woodbridge.

A talented seamstress, Jennie worked for various companies in the local area that specialized in clothing manufacturing.  Her career spanned forty years with a break in between when she dedicated herself to caring for her young children.  Jennie finally decided to take her well-deserved retirement in 1985.

It was common knowledge among Jennie’s family and friends that she was a devout Christian.  She was an active parishioner at St. Hedwig Roman Catholic Church in Elizabeth and a member of its choir for over forty  years.  Her involvement with the parish also extended into her extracurricular activities.  It seemed like she was forever making those delicious pierogis, as well as spending countless hours working the annual carnival, all of course for the benefit of the church she so dearly loved.  Jennie’s free time was spent playing cards with her family and friends and her favorite game was of course, pinochle!  For too many years to count, Jennie was averse to getting on a plane for travel.  When she finally gave it a whirl, Jennie relished the adventure and regretfully announced to all, that she was sorry that she didn’t start sooner!  These last five years Jennie has been living with the Polish speaking nuns at St. Joseph Assisted Living in Woodbridge where she became somewhat of their local celebrity.  Her strong faith guided her in leading everyone in a daily recitation of the Holy Rosary and of course, attending a daily celebration of the mass.  Jennie was selected as the president of the St. Joseph resident’s council, and she was designated as the unofficial greeter to all the new residents entering the St. Joseph’s community.  Jennie loved meeting people, and she was always so generous in giving her time and knowledge to help any of her fellow residents with whatever their needs were.  However, even with all this, the most important part of Jennie’s life, besides her faith in the Lord, was the love and dedication that she had for her family.  Any time spent with them would bring a smile to her face and a twinkle to her eyes.  Truly, it didn’t matter to Jennie if they were talking on the phone, coming together for a meal, celebrating a holiday or simply passing the time enjoying a cup of coffee with a piece of cake at the kitchen table.  Jennie’s heart and soul were her family, and nothing gave her greater joy than being with them.

Jennie was predeceased by her husband, John J. Michalski (2015) and her four siblings, William Jaskula, John Jaskula, Veronica Soya and Stella Jaskula.

Jennie is survived by her son, Michael J. Michalski; her daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Vincent Magno; her granddaughter, Sarah Magno and her numerous nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends.

We know that the Lord granted Jennie a life full of blessings and love, sprinkled with the pain of personal losses.  Her legacy shows us the importance of family, faith and perseverance with grace and dignity.  As we mourn the loss of Jennie, may we rejoice that she is now reunited with all those who went before her, especially her husband, John.  We will miss her tremendously, but Jennie will never be forgotten and may she find eternal rest with our Lord and Savior.
