Obituary

Mr. Jean Schubert Dorsainvil, 68, died Monday, November 1, 2021, in the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Rahway, New Jersey.

Family and friends are invited to the visitation in the Kowalski Funeral Home, 515 Roselle Street, Linden on Friday, November 19th. from 6:00-8:00PM.  On Saturday, November 20th. at 9:45AM, everyone will start to gather directly at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary/St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, 52 Smith Street, Elizabeth, where the funeral mass will be offered at 10:00AM.  The prayers of committal will precede Mr. Dorsainvil’s burial in the family plot in Rosedale Cemetery in Linden, New Jersey.  Following the burial, everyone is invited to the repast to be held at Nuno’s Restaurant, 300 Roselle Street, Linden.

Mr. Dorsainvil, the son of the late Amazile Daniel and the late Atalan Dorsainvil, was born in Haiti.  He came to the United States, settling in Linden, New Jersey in September of 2009.

Mr. Dorsainvil was a civil registrar in Haiti for seventeen years.  While living in Linden, he worked at a variety of places, including Burger King, but he always found himself driving buses for a variety of companies, the last one being J & J Transportation of Linden.

Mr. Dorsainvil had been the president of the soccer team “Panthere Noir”.  He thoroughly enjoyed watching all sports.  You would always find Mr. Dorsainvil listening to traditional Haitian music and of course, he loved to dance.  Everyone was always happy to be around him.

Mr. Dorsainvil is survived by  his wife, Kettely Desir; his eleven children, Cindy Dorsainvil, Junior Schubert Dorsainvil, Djems Dorsainvil and his wife, Yva Dorsainvil, Geradine Dorsainvil, Jean Gardy Dorsainvil and his wife, Babiatha Louis Mat, Pierre Yourry Dorsainvil and his wife, Marie Bellaine Luzincourt, Frantzy Dorsainvil, Ben-Schuby Dorsainvil, Kendy Dorsainvil, Ramons Dorsainvil and his wife, Berlande Alfred and Kettenica Dorsainvil; his twelve grandchildren, Marc Larson Dorsainvil, Nodarly Andress Naima Destin, Phcalie Sanka Dorsainvil, Schumie Dorsainvil, Jawens Atalan Dorsainvil, Keisha Dorsainvil, Achmide Philistin, Wellington Dorsainvil, Kailiyah Jordan Dorsainvil, Treyvensky Howardy Dorsainvil, Jayne Dorsainvil and Giovanni Dustin Dorsainvil; his two brothers, Ernst Dorsainvil and Rony Dorsainvil and his two sisters, Francoise Dorsainvil and Dominique Dorsainvil.
