Janice, the daughter of the late Elizabeth Zelinsky Noon and the late Michael J. Noon, Sr., was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey.  She resided in Westfield, New Jersey for over twenty years prior to moving to Barnegat, New Jersey in September of 2016.

Janice was employed as an administrative assistant though Advantage Resourcing in Cincinnati, Ohio and her career has included working at Exxon Chemical, followed by Infineum, both in Linden, New Jersey for the past twenty-five years.

Janice was a member of the American Legion Post 232 Ladies Auxiliary of Barnegat, New Jersey.  She had been continually active in the “Hearts of Mercy”, also in Barnegat, New Jersey, which is a volunteer organization that dedicates itself to provide support, care, and guidance for underserved children.   Janice, who had a heart of gold and embodied an absolutely loving and caring nature had always been involved in volunteer work.  She would go above and beyond to help anyone in need, whether it was a donation of food or clothing or simply an act of kindness.  Janice had a purity to her soul and such a generosity of spirit, that many were always amazed by her dedication to those in need.

In addition to her parents, Janice was predeceased by her sister, Joan Palay in 2018; her brother-in-law, Michael Palay, Jr. in 2009 and her sister-in-law, Maryann Noon in 2019.

Janice is survived by her husband of thirty-four years, Henry “Hank” Shannon; her daughter, Elizabeth Shannon; her two brothers, Michael J. Noon, Jr. and Donald Noon; her sister, Donna King and her husband, James; her stepson, Joshua Shannon; her stepdaughter, Shawn Shannon-Missal and her husband, Larry; her two grandchildren, Gibson and Violet and her many loving nieces and nephews.

As per the regulations imposed through the State of New Jersey, there will now be a maximum of one hundred and fifty people allowed in the funeral home and the church at one time and face protection is suggested.  We thank you for your understanding during this time of transition.
