Mr. James Jean-Baptiste, 37, died suddenly as a victim of a pedestrian/motor vehicle accident on Sunday, May 23,2021 in Newark, New Jersey.
Family and friends are invited to the visitation in the Kowalski Funeral Home, 515 Roselle Street, Linden on Monday, June 1st. from 10:00AM to 12:00 Noon. During the visitation at 11:30 AM, the funeral prayer services will be offered by Reverend Alexander T. Cruz, pastor of the Divine Mercy Parish of Rahway, New Jersey. Immediately after the prayer service, the prayers of committal will precede James’s burial in the family plot in Rosehill Cemetery in Linden, New Jersey.
James was born in Port Au Prince, Haiti and he resided in Elizabeth, New Jersey for five years and Roselle, New Jersey for twenty-five years before he settled in Newark, New Jersey one year ago.
He was employed in the building industry by a construction company in Weehawken, New Jersey for many years.
James liked to listen to music, but he was also talented enough to produce his own songs. He enjoyed cooking and was quite experienced at it, so much so, that James worked as a chef in a restaurant for a few years. For relaxation, James turned to sports, as he liked to run track and play soccer.
James is survived by his mother, Marie A. LaFleur; his stepfather, Anthony LaFleur, Sr.; his two sisters, Gina LaFleur and Sherley LaFleur; his four brothers, Anthony LaFleur, Jr., Joseph S. LaFleur, Jonathan LaFleur and Stanley Lafleur and his son, Caleb Thomas.
