Mr. James “Jimbo” S. Drapola, died Monday, November 8, 2021, in the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Rahway, New Jersey.
Mr. Drapola was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey and he resided in Linden, New Jersey for fifteen years before settling in Rahway, New Jersey twenty years ago.
He was employed as a forklift operator and truck driver for DJ & R Trucking Inc. in Metuchen, New Jersey for over twenty years prior to ending his career due to various non work-related injuries twenty years ago.
Mr. Drapola enjoyed saltwater fishing, whether off the jetties or on the party boats, as well as, crabbing. He was known to be an excellent handyman and would offer help to any friend in need of his abilities. Mr. Drapola enjoyed sports, especially football and baseball. In the NFL, his favorite team was the Kansas City Chiefs and, in the MLB, he rooted for the New York teams, namely the Yankees and the Mets. Mr. Drapola was an avid gardener and he seemed to have a “green thumb” when it came to his beautiful house plants. In the realm of animals, he liked to feed the birds outside, but he also had his personal pets that included a canary, fish, and a host of cats over the years. For relaxation, Mr. Drapola loved to watch television and was an excellent channel surfer, watching anything and everything that caught his interest.
Mr. Drapola is survived by his many neighbors and friends, especially his friend of over fifty years, Billy Mocharski.
In respect of Mr. Drapola’s wishes, his cremation in Rosehill Crematory in Linden, New Jersey will be private.
