Irena (Wilisowska) Walentek

Mrs. Irena (Wilisowska) Walentek, 76, died Wednesday, April 15, 2020 in the Morristown Memorial Hospital – Mt. Kemble Division, Morristown, New Jersey.

Mrs. Walentek, the daughter of the late Maria Raczka Wilisowska and the late Stanislaw Wilisowski, was born in Nawsie Kołaczyckie, Poland, and lived in Jasło, Poland for most of her life.  She came to the United States in 2005, settling in Roselle, New Jersey fifteen years ago.

Mrs. Walentek had been a teacher in the elementary school system in Poland, teaching the children in grades 1-3, for forty years. She was also an active member of the Polish Teachers' Union and a member of a Rosary Society in the Roman Catholic Church of Virgin Mary in Jasło, Poland. While in this country, Mrs. Walentek continued to devote herself to her passion of education and taught at the Polish Supplementary School of St. Theresa’s Church in Linden for the past two years, until June of 2019.

Mrs. Walentek was an active communicant of her St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Roman Catholic Church community, and she was also a member of its’ Padre Pio Rosary Society.  In her spare time, Mrs. Walentek loved to read and bake all sorts of delicacies for her family.  However, the most important aspect of Mrs. Walentek’s life by far was being a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.  During all of the fifteen years that she lived in the United States, Mrs. Walentek unselfishly helped her children in any way that she could. She would often make herself available in a moment’s notice if she knew they needed something. Her dedication to her ten grandchildren was outstanding.  She would spend every moment of the day doing everything she could to lend them a helping hand, give a comforting smile or shower her grandchildren with hugs and kisses. Mrs. Walentek was there for them, teaching all of her grandchildren, by example, of what it truly means to be a family, guiding them with her love and making memories to last a lifetime.

Mrs. Walentek is survived by her husband of fifty-one years, Stefan Walentek; her four children, Jaroslaw Walentek and his wife, Elzbieta, Margaret Onisko and her husband, Lester, Damian Walentek and his wife, Joanna and Lukasz Walentek and his wife, Anna; her brother, Jozef Wilisowski; her sister, Halina Rusztowicz; and her ten grandchildren Kamil Walentek, Mateusz Walentek, Paulina Onisko, Natalia Onisko, Izabela Onisko, Stanislaw Walentek, Oliwia Walentek, Patrycja Walentek, Michal Walentek and Kinga Walentek.

Due to the COVID-19 federal and state restrictions on public gatherings, all funeral services will be held privately.

Holy Mass commemorating Mrs. Walentek will be celebrated in St. Theresa Church of the Child Jesus, Linden, NJ, and will be broadcast online via YouTube/Live Stream, on Wednesday, April 22, 2020, at 7PM.

Irena Walentek, córka zmarłej śp. Marii Rączki Wilisowskiej i zmarłego śp.  Stanisława Wilisowskiego, urodziła się w Nawsiu Kołaczyckim w 1943 roku, a większość swojego życia zamieszkiwała w Jaśle.

Przez czterdzieści lat Irena była nauczycielką szkół podstawowych w Polsce, ucząc dzieci w klasach 1-3. Podczas jej pobytu w USA, oddana swojej pasji jaką była edukacja dzieci, uczyła przez dwa lata w Polskiej Szkole im. Karola Wojtyły przy Kościele Św. Teresy w Linden.

W Stanach Zjednoczonych  Irena aktywnie współdziałała we wspólnocie Kościoła rzymsko-katolickiego pw. Św. Teresy od Dzieciątka Jezus. Była również członkiem Stowarzyszenia Różańcowego pw. Świętego Ojca Pio. W Polsce Irena była aktywnym członkiem Związku Nauczycielstwa Polskiego oraz członkiem grupy żywego Różańca w Kościele pw. Najświętszej Maryi Panny w Jaśle.

W wolnym czasie Irena uwielbiała czytać książki i tworzyć wspaniałe wypieki dla swojej rodziny. Najważniejszym aspektem życia Ireny było przebywanie z rodziną, jej wnukami oraz bycie kochającą i oddaną żoną, matką i babcią. Irena zawsze bezinteresownie pomagała swoim dzieciom w każdym możliwym aspekcie życia. Była kochającą babcią dla swoich wnucząt, zawsze gotową aby nieść pomocną dłoń, pocieszający uśmiech i modlitwę. Zawsze była dumna ze swoich wnuków, często okazywała im czułość i obsypywala swoje wnuki uściskami, pocałunkami i komplementami. Swoim zachowaniem starała się być dla nich przykladem prawdziwej miłości w rodzinie.

Irena pozostawiła swojego kochającego męża Stefana Walentka, z którym przeżyła w związku małżeńskim 51 lat. Na zawsze pozostanie także w sercach i pamięci czworga dzieci wraz z rodzinami: Jarosława Walentek z żoną Elżbietą, Małgorzaty Oniśko z mężem Leszkiem, Damiana Walentek z żoną Joanną oraz Łukasza Walentek z żoną Anną. Nadal żyje brat  Ireny, Józef Wilisowski, siostra Halina Rusztowicz oraz  dziesięcioro wnucząt (wg wieku): Kamil Walentek (23), Mateusz Walentek (20) Paulina Onisko (19), Natalia Onisko (16), Izabela Onisko (13), Stanisław Walentek (12), Oliwia Walentek (11) Patrycja Walentek (9), Michał Walentek (8) i Kinga Walentek (6).

Ze względu na obostrzenia federalne i stanowe wprowadzone w wyniku panującej sytuacji epidemiologicznej COVID-19, wszystkie usługi pogrzebowe odbędą się w gronie prywatnym.

Msza święta za dusze zmarłej Ireny Walentek będzie transmitowana drogą internetową za pośrednictwem St. Theresa Linden NJ YouTube Live Stream we środę, 22 kwietnia 2020 roku o godz. 7PM EST, czyli o godz. 01:00 rano czasu polskiego.

Uroczystości pogrzebowe w Polsce odbędą się w późniejszym terminie o którym zawiadomi Rodzina zmarłej.
